1. What Information We Collect

When You Sign Up

Email address
Name (if you provide one)

When You are on a Paid Tier

Our payment processor will collect:

Billing name and address
Payment card details or other payment method (We never receive or store your full card number - everything is handled securely by Stripe.)

When You Use the Plugin

Which features you use
How many credits have you used
Error logs (to fix bugs)
Anonymous usage patterns (to improve the product)

Automatically

IP address
Browser and device info
Plugin version
How you use Design Sage

2. What Happens to Your Designs

This is important, so we'll be crystal clear:

During Analysis:

You select a design to analyze
We send it to our AI for processing (this takes seconds)
We generate feedback
We send the feedback back to you

After Analysis:

Your design is deleted within 24 hours
We don't permanently store your design files
We might keep anonymous stats to improve our AI (no personal info, can't be traced back to you)
You can opt out of helping improve our AI by emailing us.

4. Who We Share With

We don't sell your data. Period.

We only share information with a small number of trusted service providers who help us deliver and improve Design Sage. Each of these providers is contractually obligated to keep your data secure and use it only to provide their specific service to us.

Authentication
Clerk securely handles sign-up, magic links, and user sessions. Their privacy policy: https://clerk.com/privacy
Payments & Subscriptions
Stripe processes all payments, subscriptions, and billing. Their privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy
AI Processing
The AI providers we use to generate design feedback (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar). They receive your design only for the brief moment needed to generate feedback and do not store it.
Hosting & Infrastructure
Cloud providers that store account data, logs, and backend services (e.g., Vercel, AWS, Supabase, etc.).
Analytics
Tools that help us understand how the plugin is used so we can make it better. No personal or design data is included.
Organization / Team Admins
If you join or create an organization in Design Sage, admins can see credit usage and basic account info of team members.
Legal Requirements
Only when we are legally required to do so (e.g., court order or valid government request).

5. Local Storage & Cookies

In the Figma Plugin

We don't use browser cookies in the plugin. Instead, we store some data locally on your device using Figma's plugin storage:

What's stored on your device:

Bookmarked feedback items
Your last 20 analyses (history)
Plugin settings

Important: This data stays on your device. We can't access it unless you explicitly use the plugin to send analyses.

To clear it:

Use "Clear History" or "Clear Bookmarks" in the plugin
Uninstall the plugin
It doesn't affect your account data

On Our Website

When you visit our website or dashboard, we use cookies for:

Keeping you logged in (essential)
Understanding how the site is used (analytics)

You can manage website cookies through your browser settings.

6. Children

Design Sage is for people 18 and older. If you're under 18, please don't use it. If we discover we've collected info from someone under 18, we'll delete it immediately.

7. International Users

Your data might be processed in different countries. We ensure appropriate protections are in place when transferring data internationally.

8. Your Privacy Rights

What You Can Do

See your data: Request a copy of your personal information
Fix mistakes: Update your info in account settings anytime
Delete your account: Go to Dashboard → Settings → Delete Account (anonymizes your personal data)
Stop emails: Unsubscribe from marketing (we'll still send receipts and important updates)

How to Use These Rights

Delete your account: Dashboard → Scroll to end of page → Delete Account (instant and cannot be undone)
Export your data: Email [email protected] with "Data Export Request"
Other requests: Email [email protected]

We'll get back to you within 45 days for legal requests, usually much faster for simple ones.

What Happens When You Delete

When you delete your account, we immediately:
Anonymize your email and name (can't be traced back to you)
Cancel your subscription (no refunds for unused time)
Remove you from any teams
Anonymize your organization

This is permanent - we can't undo it.

We might keep some anonymized records for legal/tax requirements, but they can't identify you.

9. Changes to This Policy

We might update this privacy policy. If we make big changes, we'll email you and post a notice in the plugin.

Continuing to use Design Sage after changes means you're OK with the updated policy.
